Mark 3 APPLYING
I defiantly see that he could handle his temper the right way and that's pretty inspirational. also i can tell that he struggled with things, a lot of people turned against him. sometimes when i feel kind of like im on one side and everybody else is on the other.i always thought there wasn't a way that Jesus could really understand that, but i think this proves otherwise.
Mark 3 FEELING
i felt like like this was kind of a depressing passage. it seemed like everybody was against God
Mark 3 EVALUATING
the word i'm thinking of, is....calm. throughout this entire chapter you see these annoying stupid things that people do to Jesus, and he does get mad. but he handles it the right way. he doesn't lash out on everyone he just calmly deals with it. even when his own family was against him.
Mark 3 UNDERSTANDING
To my understanding, (ha) i think that the pharisees are just out to get him; because they feel threatened. Jesus is attracting a lot of crowds and people have began to follow him. If i was in power and some guy came out of no were and started swerving people to follow them, i would be pretty mad to. Just the fact that somebody else is taking power away from you, it would upset any normal person. and if it happened for so long and you were extremely power hungry, kind of like Hitler; you might eventually feel like you need to rise above that certain person. So that's what i think the Pharisees thought of Jesus like he was stealing their spot light and they wanted it back. They were all just a bunch of Hitlers.
Mark 3 OBSERVATIONS
1. Saying “another time” implies that it wasn’t the first time this had happened, which of course is true, since he was going to the synagogue.
2. The man with a shriveled hand was there.
(a.) He could have been there because it could have been a plot to set up Jesus, to show everyone how “bad” he was. You know because healing people is such a crime.
(b.) He was poor, assuming he couldn’t work very well, and he needed to collect money
(c.) He was giving money
(d.) He could of heard that Jesus was going and wanted to meet up with everyone else
3. It doesn’t say if he was inside or outside of the synagogue.
4. It says that “some of them” this could mean that not everyone there was there to accuse Jesus.
5. They literally just wanted reasons to accuse him
6. What good would it do to accuse Jesus? I think it’s possible that the leaders felt threatened by Jesus
7. Back in the day it was wrong to work on the Sabbath, so its almost like a setup
8. Jesus always commands the person who he is healing.
9. “stand up in front of everyone” was the command. It shows he wasn’t scared and that he was making it obvious. Why do something and not go out with a big bang?
10. When Jesus asked the people a question in verse 4 none of them responded. They were completely silent, probably because they knew that they were wrong.
11. Jesus got mad
12. Even though he was mad, he still healed the guy
13. So the Pharisees go out to plot an assassination for Jesus.
14. Jesus goes to the lake with only his disciples
15. Crowds followed him everywhere
16. He told the people who he healed not to tell others who he was.
17. He gives his newly 12 the power to drive out demons. That’s obviously not a normal gift to give someone
18. Crowds followed him so closely to the point were Him and His disciples couldn’t eat. (Talk about OCD.)
19. His family turned against him except for his mom
20. Since the leaders of this time happen to be so brilliant, they accuse him of being a demon.
21. Jesus then speaks to them in parables. Everything that these people don’t seem to affect Him the way they want him to. Through all of it he remains persistent
22. Jesus tells them all that they can be forgiven of there sins all except for one
23. Then he says Here are my mother and my brothers! 35 Whoever does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.”
